Leonie
and Philip James make up the husband and wife team of Plymouth
Pet Care who have been in business for over 15 years. Deciding to take
a completely different career path and cut away from the corporate world
was an easy decision due to our love and devotion for all animals.
From
exotic snakes to the family pack of sheep dogs, a Rhodesian Ridgeback
and two German Shepherds. Philip with 35yrs animal experience grew up
on a farm caring and assisting with the upkeep of a variety of animals
and has completed many intense courses in Dog
behaviour psychology, ethology & Army operational handling, welfare
and training. Philip served in the English Parachute regiment for seven
years as a handler of protection and detection dogs before leaving for
university. Philip was a trained counselor before becoming a dog behaviour
psychologist specialist. Philip is now the only Dog
Behaviourist all breeds in Plymouth using the Nothing
in life is free R+ (CANRG) = Pack leader "THE DECISION MAKER" Known to some people as the Plymouth Dog Whisperer.
Leonie grew up with positive dog training and competing with various breeds
of dog including a German Shepherd, Rottweiler and Tibetan Spaniel whilst
managing a career in elderly care. Leonie is a Victoria Stilwell dog trainer
fan and also has recently completed a course in K9 Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation.
Current pets/lodgers are an English Bull Terrier cross, japanese akita,
and a rescue cat, Gizmo.
Thousands
of pet owners work all day, and this requires leaving your dog
whilst you work. Often these owners come home to a stressed out dog, and
excessive destruction, either of the house, or the yard and neighbours
who complain about barking and howling, due to separation anxiety. One
of the top ten reasons given to animal rescue organisations from owners
is 'he destroys my things when I'm not home.' This can be prevented with
our help.
Exercise in a working week is easily said but not so
easy to put into practice when the average person works on average up
to 40 hours per week to put a meal on the table and keep a roof over their
head. As much as we all love our pets as our children the idea of getting
up an hour earlier or getting home and going straight out for a walk can
be tiring in itself. But we love our pets so what can we do?
Step in Plymouth Pet Care. Have us collect your pet and we will
give full walks or additional training to alleviate behaviour problems
you don't want. We have full public liability insurance for peace of mind.
